Our Story

We, JT and Brooke Shegogue, are first generation farmers that have a passion for land and animal stewardship. This passion was sparked when realizing the importance of how our food is treated, fed, and raised. We purchased our farm, located in St. Inigoes, in 2022 with one goal in mind, to offer our community food that is ethically and humanely raised. We take our stewardship very seriously, our animals are free to roam, socialize, and graze at their leisure, just like nature intended them to do. Our products are free of hormones, antibiotics, GMOs, and any other unnecessary by-products.

The Meaning Behind the Name

Brooke’s passion of riding began at the age of 3. Her parents thought that it was just going to be a phase, but soon realized this “phase” was not going anywhere. Her parents bought her first horse, King, when she was 10 years old. When the farm was purchased, Brooke wanted to pay tribute to her lifelong friend. Therefore, King’s Rest Farm was born. At the ripe age of 32, King spends his days moseying around the pastures and bathing in the sun.
